If this is your first time visiting DCWA on the web, we welcome you and hope you find your visit to be educational, motivational, and perhaps even entertaining. For those who have previously checked us out, things should look quite different. Thanks in part to the generous donations of our supporters, DCWA has been able to overhaul its image and online presence with a gorgeous new logo designed by local artist Lauren Ciambruschini, breathtaking nature photography by local naturalist John Garrison, and an elegant and much easier to use website by local web development company Main St. Design.
Do you sense a theme? DCWA believes in supporting local artists and businesses, just as we advocate for our local natural resources. Despite the new look, we maintain the same mission we have for the last half-century – to promote environmental stewardship by educating and encouraging citizens, businesses, politicians, and government officials of environmental concerns affecting the Deer Creek Watershed with an ultimate goal of a healthy and vibrant watershed that supports diverse aquatic life in balance with the needs of the community.
So take a look around, review new information (like our Environmental Science Scholarship at Harford Community College), check out the latest watershed happenings on our new blog, let us know what you think of some of the new features (like our interactive map, which allows you to identify in which subwatershed you, live, work, and play), and consider getting involved with our organization, whether its by volunteering for an event or donating resources to our cause. We hope you enjoy your visit and will return often to join our effort to preserve and protect the natural resources within the Deer Creek Watershed for the benefit of the community and future generations.
